Blueprints
Are Promises.
Buildings Need
Receipts.
Every job puts new equipment in your walls and ceilings. TradePlane captures each piece as it goes in: what it is, its serial number, a photo, who installed it and when, pinned to the exact spot on your drawings. The record gets made before the drywall closes, so nobody has to be paid to go find it later.
The drawings say what was supposed to go in. Nobody wrote down what did.
At the end of a job you get a box of PDFs and a set of drawings. They show the design. They don't show the serial number on the new air handler, which breaker feeds the booster pump, or the damper that moved two feet during rough-in.
Then the building opens and that gap starts costing money. Every service vendor walks the building to build their own list. Change vendors and the next one walks it again. You pay for every walk, and you never get the list.
"If it's not documented, it didn't happen. Not to your GC, not to the owner, not in arbitration."
20+ years of construction field experience behind TradePlane
One record, built while the work goes in.
Every card below carries a label. Working now means a customer can use it today. Not yet means we're building it. We'd rather you read that here than find it out in month two.
On the Drawing
Every device is pinned to its spot on your real construction drawings. A QR sticker in each room opens the drawing for that exact room, so anyone can find equipment in a building they've never walked.
Before the Wall Closes
Serial number, model and photo, captured by the crew at rough-in. For equipment that has to be recorded, the app won't let it be marked roughed in until the capture is done.
For the Life of the Building
A read-only login for your facilities team, and the dates each piece of equipment is due for testing and service. We're building this now, and we'll tell you where it stands every time you ask.
Three seats. The same record.
The owner keeps the building for decades. The contractors are there for the few months when the record is cheapest to make. TradePlane works for all three.
One Record of What's in Your Building
Get a drawing-pinned record of the equipment your job put in, made while it was going in, instead of paying vendors to walk the building afterward.
For owners General ContractorsHand Your Owner What Actually Went In
Capture serials, models and photos as your crews install, so closeout isn't a trip back into a finished building to read nameplates.
For GCs and CMs Trade ContractorsStop Flipping. Start Building.
Scan into the current drawing for the room you're standing in. The daily report builds itself from the same scans.
For MEPF tradesMade at the wall, not in an office.
Equipment lists usually get typed up in an office, from submittals and spreadsheets, days after the unit was set. Or a crew walks the finished building with a clipboard, and you pay for the walk.
Ours is made by the person holding the equipment, with the serial in front of them and the wall still open. That's the only moment this information is free. After the drywall goes up, it costs money to get back.
Two ways to capture. The owner picks.
We support both, and the record is the same either way.
Put It in Your Spec
Add a section to your contractor's scope: which equipment gets captured, what each record has to include, and when it's due. Their crews scan as they install. They already owe you closeout documents, and this is the cheapest way for them to deliver them.
Use Your Own People
If your own project managers or facilities staff run the job, they do the scanning. Same drawings, same record, no contractor mandate needed.
We keep the record. We never sign off on it.
Your inspector, your fire marshal or your trained staff sign. We're not the compliance authority and we don't replace your inspector. We make sure that when they show up, they're checking a map instead of hunting through a building.
We're still early. That works in your favor.
We're working directly with a small number of owners and contractors. Design partners get more than access. They get a say in what gets built.
Direct Founder Access
You work with the people building TradePlane. Questions get answered fast. Issues don't sit in a queue.
Hands-On Setup
We come to your site, set it up with your drawings and your people, and stay until it runs the way you need.
Shape the Roadmap
Your jobs and your pain points decide what gets built next. You tell us in person, and we build from that.
Straight answers.
What is TradePlane?
TradePlane is an asset-intelligence platform, born at install. The crew putting equipment into a building scans a QR sticker, lands on the current drawing for that room, and captures each device (serial number, model, photo and location) before it's covered up. The result is a record of what's actually in the building, pinned to its drawings.
How is TradePlane different from a maintenance system?
A maintenance system runs work orders once the building is open, and it assumes someone already has an accurate equipment list. TradePlane makes that list during construction, from the drawings and the crew at the wall. Sending our record straight into a maintenance system isn't built yet.
Who does the scanning?
Whoever the owner chooses. The owner can put it in the contractor's scope so the installing crews scan as they go, or have their own project or facilities staff do it. Either way it's the same record on the same drawings.
What do we need to get started?
Your drawings as PDF plan sets and a job that's heading into rough-in. No BIM model is needed. We come to the site, load the drawings and get the crew scanning.
Does it work for a building that's already built?
Not well yet. TradePlane works best on new construction or a renovation, while the equipment is going in. Building a record for an existing building from its old drawings is something we're working on. It isn't ready.
Do you sign off on inspections?
No. We keep the record. We never sign off on it. Your inspector, fire marshal or trained staff do that. We make it faster for them to find and check what they came to see.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It runs in the phone's web browser, so there's nothing to download from an app store. Crew members log in with a code sent by text message instead of a password. Someone on the job adds them first, so a stranger can't scan their way in.
Is our data kept separate from other companies?
Yes. Each company's data is walled off from every other company's, and permissions are checked on our servers, where a user can't get around them. When someone's role changes, their old access ends right then.
How does pricing work?
While the job runs, the builder pays a monthly subscription. After handover, the owner pays per square foot per year. We never charge per inspection. More on the pricing page.
